21Wellness PromotionEnhance WellnessThroughout the DistrictThe District recognizes the health and safety issues faced by our students and staff, which can significantly impact their overall wellness, academic performance, and ultimately, their ability to become productive citizens of our society. To assist in addressing these challenges, we have a comprehensive Wellness Promotion Policy (2.035) aligned with the %u201cWhole School, Whole Community, Whole Child%u201d (WSCC) model developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Our journey towards revising the Wellness Promotion Policy (2.035) in FY24 has been marked by significant progress and collaborative efforts. Following an evaluation by Action for Healthy Kids, we obtained analysis scorecards: the 2023 WellSAT (3.0) and the 2023 WellSAT WSCC, which have guided our efforts and provided valuable insights into areas for improvement.Key milestones in the FY24 policy revision included:%u2022%u0009 Initiating discussions on this objective with the Wellness Promotion Collaboration Team (WPCT).%u2022%u0009 Consultations with the General Counsel%u2019s Office for policy advice.%u2022%u0009 Drafts of the policy were circulated among key stakeholders for input%u2014the Principals Executive Board, the Superintendent%u2019s Student Advisory Council, the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), and many other stakeholders.%u2022%u0009 A Wellness Promotion Policy Development Workshop for Public Input with Staff was held to gather broader community insights as we strive to create a comprehensive and effective policy that promotes the well,being of all students and staff.
