Executive Summary6 School Food Service 2023-2024 Annual Report MainMENUAdministrator Site Visits Demonstrating our commitment to supporting school Cafeteria Managers and staff, Central Office administrators were asked to visit schools throughout the year. During these visits, administrators provided assistance in various capacities%u2014whether it was prepping, cooking, serving, or simply listening to staff concerns. By the end of the school year, 15 administrators had visited 35 schools, providing valuable support and fostering greater understanding between the Central Office and school based teams. Given the positive impact of this initiative, administrators will continue site visits to schools in FY25. Urban School Food Alliance: Winter 2024 Member MeetingThe Urban School Food Alliance (USFA), a membershipbased organization representing 18 of the largest public school nutrition programs in the country, held its Winter 2024 Member Meeting on February 7-8, 2024, at the Jupiter Marriott Hotel. SFS was honored to host this event highlighting the theme %u201cHow Full Is Your Bucket?%u201dThe first day of the meeting featured presentations on important topics, including supply chain management, legislative updates, American Commodity Distribution Association (ACDA) information, and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) developments. On day two, we facilitated site visits to two of our schools to showcase some of our initiatives.The first visit was to Rolling Green ES, where our School Food Service (SFS) Garden Team provided a presentation on the District%u2019s garden initiative, highlighting the collaborative work with the Garden Cadre, which includes members of the academic team. The second stop was at Forest Hill Community HS to highlight our High School Reengineering Program. This program was developed by SFS to offer students a food court-style dining experience in participating high schools. To date, we have successfully renovated seven high school cafeterias, offering students a wide variety of meals each day. Alliance members were able to participate in a taste testing of 26 lunch menu items served daily to students in our reengineered schools.
