CREDIT ACCELERATION PROGRAM (CAP)
The CAP Program allows a student to earn high school credit in courses required for high
school graduation through passage of an End-of-Course assessment administered under s.
1008.22 (Algebra 1, Geometry, United States History, and Biology 1), an Advanced
Placement Examination, or a College Level Examination Program (CLEP).
Notwithstanding s. 1003.436, course credit shall be awarded to a student who is not
enrolled in the course, or who has not completed the course, if the student attains a passing
score on the corresponding End-of-Course assessment, Advanced Placement Examination,
or CLEP.
Students are responsible for all fees associated with CLEP exams. Students who take an
Advanced Placement exam without being enrolled in the corresponding course are
responsible for all fees.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ACCELERATION REQUIREMENTS
Palm Beach Accelerated Mathematics Plan (AMP)
In order to best meet the needs of all students in grades 3-5 in Palm Beach County, the
Accelerated Mathematics Plan provides a pathway for the highest achieving students who meet
certain criteria of success. This plan helps to personalize learning for these students who will be
working in an accelerated, rigorous mathematics classroom.
