Building Code Services Modernizes with TRIRIGA for
Fire, Safety, and Building Processes
The Building Code Services Department is enhancing collaboration and
future-proofing operations by transitioning from a legacy ColdFusion system
to IBM TRIRIGA. This upgrade primarily targets the Fire and Safety Module,
with plans to incorporate permits, submissions, and building inspections in
subsequent phases.
Fire and Safety Enhancements: The system leverages TRIRIGA’s Inspection
module to streamline inspection creation, allowing users to document
findings, validate data, and associate citations with specific buildings.
Inspectors can easily access and manage citation records through the newly
created Fire and Safety Form, which includes reporting capabilities and a
BIRT report for current fiscal year data.
A dedicated Management Console enables processing of draft citations by
fiscal year and inspection dates. Utilities for importing citations into service
requests and updating corrected dates further improve efficiency. Fire and
Safety data integrates directly with facility and building records via the
Property and Building forms.
Expanding TRIRIGA Mobility Across the District
The TRIRIGA team has made significant enhancements to existing mobile
applications, developed and released new ones, and has more planned for
release in FY26. The Work Task App, used by MPO technicians, has been
successfully implemented, with ongoing training provided to new technicians.
Recent improvements to this widely adopted app include the ability to upload
photos to Work Tasks and an option to notify their supervisor via automated
email when a comment is added to a Work Task.
