HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS



        Agritechnology                                                                 Available School Options
        The  Agritechnology  Program offers  a sequence  of  courses  that  provide  challenging
        academic content standards aligned with immediately applicable  knowledge and skills.   Choice
        This series of courses will prepare students for immediate employment or a basis for     · Glades Central Community High
        advance study of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources career clusters. The courses   In–House: None available
        include technical skill proficiency and competency-based applied learning that are
        interdependent on academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning/problem-solving skills,
        work attitudes, general employability skills, specialized equipment skills, occupation-
        specific skills, and mastery of all aspects of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources
        career cluster. The content includes but is not limited to instruction in animal and plant
        production, agribusiness, agricultural mechanics, employability skills, basic science,
        communications, and human-relations skills. All students applying to this program must
        meet the following eligibility criteria: 2.5 GPA.

        Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology                         Available School Options
        The Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology program prepares students
        for college or advanced industry training and employment in the HVAC–R industry. This   Choice

        of this program, the student will be prepared to take the state certification examination
        for air conditioning, refrigeration and heating mechanics and earn industry certification
        through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
        There are no eligibility criteria required for students applying to this program.

        Air Force JROTC                                                                Available School Options
        The Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC) program is designed
        to build better citizens, strengthen character, develop leadership, and acquaint cadets   Choice
        with the aerospace age and careers in military and civilian aviation. The curriculum is     · Lake Worth Community High

        and space technology. Upon completion, students are under no obligation to enlist in
        the Armed Forces. Successful completion of the AFJROTC program allows entry into
        the Armed Forces up to two pay grades higher than other enlistees without AFJROTC
        experience.  All cadets are required to adhere to the U.S. Air Force standards
        including authorized grooming regulations as part of the uniform requirement.

        American History and Law                                                       Available School Options
        The American History and Law program promotes the study and appreciation of American
        history and the legal framework that has helped to define it. It is a program designed   Choice

        foundations. This program prepares students in legal theory and practical application   In–House: None available
        of the law to help individuals in our society. Classes foster the importance of economic
        and geographical relationships and  increase awareness  of the richness and diversity in
        American society. Students are exposed to primary and secondary documents through
        various publications and traveling exhibits, as well as lectures by eminent historians.
        All students applying to this program must meet the following eligibility criteria: 2.5
        GPA.
