The Department of Adult and Community Education serves over 30,000
students annually at more than 34 sites across the County. This includes four
Technical Centers and a Virtual Education program for those who prefer
online instruction.
ADULT AND The goal of the Adult and Community Education Department is to increase
COMMUNITY the number of adult education students who enter postsecondary education
and earn a degree, certificate, and/or industry credential.
EDUCATION Not only do we provide comprehensive instructional programs such as Adult
Basic Education, Adult High School, GED Preparation, Career and Technical
Education (CTE), and English language competency courses, but we also
offer a diversity of personal enrichment classes designed to help students
enhance their quality of life at home, work, or in the community.
CITIZENSHIP CLASS Now is the time for our graduating seniors, or parents who want to gain an
additional skill, to consider attending classes at one of our technical
centers. We offer pre-apprentice courses in welding, carpentry, plumbing,
electrical, and HVAC. Also offered are courses in phlebotomy, EKG, and
FAMILY IMPACT other healthcare-related courses. These courses are offered at reduced
tuition and some courses are tuition-free. Register now.
