Community Gardens
On January 21, John F. Kennedy ( JFK) MS hosted a grand
opening of a multi-purpose space, a joint venture with the
E-RoadMap Corporation, the City of Riviera Beach, and the
School District of Palm Beach County. Students, families,
friends, and the general public were treated to a performance
by the JFK MS band and drill team. The event included
cooking demonstrations, delicious food samples from the JFK
MS culinary students, yoga, live music, art demonstrations,
and more. The multi-purpose space is located adjacent to
the Riviera Beach Urban Farm and Garden. It will assist
E-RoadMap’s goal of expanding Operation No Food Gap
to provide outdoor teaching, meeting, and workspace to
the youth in Riviera Beach. Much appreciation goes to the
Garden Collaboration team for creating a license agreement
that enabled this opportunity to become a true partnership
between multiple entities.

Earth Day Celebration
To prepare for Earth Day, SFS provided resources to Indian Pines
ES so they could refurbish their school garden. In honor of Earth Outdoor multi-purpose workspace in Riviera Beach
Day, students planted seeds using recycled materials. All grade
levels were assigned different garden beds and students had an
opportunity to plant seeds and seedlings. The students had so
much fun planting and were excited to see their plants grow and
try the produce they grew.
