174 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTSTRATEGIC PLAN IMPLEMENTATIONAs the District concluded the fourth year of its strategic plan, significant progress has been made in transforming key initiatives into sustainable, standard operating practices. FY26 marked a pivotal shift in the plan%u2019s lifecycle, with ten initiatives in the closure phase and four remaining active through FY27.Academic Excellence & Growth (Theme A): Significant strides were made this year to improve instructional quality and expand student opportunities for PreK through grade 12. These improvements include:%u2022 Literacy Instruction (A.1a): The District strengthened instructional expertise by training 275 additional K-2 teachers in the Science of Reading. Targeted professional learning sessions for principals and coaches enhanced leadership capacity.*%u2022 Career Pathways (A.1b): Updated policies reduced barriers to access and helped develop new pathways to meet local workforce demands. All adult and grade 9-12 trades programs achieved NCCER accreditation. Additionally, the Department of Choice and Careers awarded 80 scholarships to graduating seniors.*%u2022 Community Experiences (A.3a): This initiative expanded District-wide, providing one curated, interactive field trip for every student in grades K-8. Venue partners, including Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the Todd J. Bonlarron Green Cay Learning Center, and the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, finalized new collaborative agreements.**Student-Focused Culture (Theme B): Bilateral communication was institutionalized through the Superintendent%u2019s Student Advisory Committee and school-based Student Voice Councils (B.1a). These efforts increased student engagement.**Mental Health & Wellness (Theme C)%u2022 Trusted Adults on Campus (C.1a): A District-wide system ensures that every student has a positive relationship with a school adult on campus. The percentage of students reporting they have a trusted adult on campus increased by 3.6% on the School Effectiveness Questionnaire (SEQ) compared with FY25.**%u2022 Employee Well-being (C.2c): Efforts to improve peer support and engagement earned the District a Platinum-level award from Mental Health America.**Committed & Impactful Employees (Theme D)%u2022 AI Integration (D.1c): The District adopted a formal Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy in April. Staff conducted more than 80 professional learning sessions, reaching 6,900 employees.*%u2022 Customer Service (D.2a): Implementation of the %u201cCatch the WAVE%u201d standards across the District led to a 109% increase in employee recognition submissions and a 98% positive sentiment regarding service consistency.**Continuing through FY27**Closure phase BOARD AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS
