                                    2STUDENT-FOCUSED CULTUREObjective 2: Increase family engagement in supporting student successTRANSITION TO KINDERGARTENThe District%u2019s Transition to Kindergarten (T2K) initiative, known as Step into Kindergarten, encourages early registration for incoming kindergarteners and provides them with tools to ensure a successful start to their educational journey. Materials are translated into multiple languages to maintain accessibility and inclusivity across the District. As schools prepare to welcome the Class of 2039, the District remains committed to supporting student growth and development. The FY26 plan included the following components:%u2022 Kindergarten Kickoff WeekDistrict-wide orientations established a foundation for future collaboration between families and schools. Dedicated sessions provided activities and resources for incoming students and family members.%u2022 Media CampaignA comprehensive advertising strategy used television, radio, movie theaters, billboards, direct mailers, and social media. Postcards encouraging kindergarten registration were mailed to more than 40,000 Palm Beach County families with children ages three to five. Targeted efforts promoted early registration and kindergarten readiness through dedicated webpages.%u2022 Kindergarten Readiness KitsThe kits were updated and distributed to each registered student. Materials included a parent or guardian guide available in multiple languages, as well as instructional videos demonstrating how to support skill development before school begins.%u2022 Community Outreach The Department of Early Childhood Education conducted more than 600 site visits and family presentations at private and public sites to promote school readiness. Strategic alliances were maintained with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County to reach families and Voluntary Prekindergarten providers.
