The Department of Multicultural Education serves to meet the educational needs of a diverse student popu-
lation of English Language Learners (ELLs). Through the Title III Grant, the department has been able to sup-
port the individual needs of ELLs throughout the system and provide guidance to ensure compliance with all
requirements of state and federal mandates regarding ELLs.
Through the Title I, Part C Federal Grant, the Palm Beach Migrant Education Program collaborated with various
community partners to provide academic and social support services to migrant students and their families in
Palm Beach County. By working with partners like the Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach, over 330 migrant fam-
ilies (serving 650 migrant children) received weekly meals sustaining them when students could not access
free or reduced meals provided by their schools.
In addition to weekly meals, through the Migrant Education Program’s partnership with numerous commu-
nity partners, such as the Trinity United Methodist Church’s Kids Kloset, the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa,
Inc. toy donation drive, and The Doyle Family Foundation, over 225 migrant families received Christmas gifts
during FY21 holiday season. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Back to Basic’s Angel Program provided
gifts of new sneakers, socks, underwear and a toy to more than 200 migrant children in Palm Beach County.
