Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The School District of Palm Beach County established a Superintendent’s
Health Advisory Committee (HAC) comprised of medical professionals, community leaders, and District staff.
In FY21, this committee was led by Mr. Jay Boggess, and it convened several times during the school year to
provide guidance to Superintendent Donald E. Fennoy II.

HAC focused and based on the most current COVID-19 data, guidelines, and recommendations from federal,
state, and local health and government entities. This collaboration contributed to the creation of COVID-19
protocols and procedures for students and staff, which resulted in schools and individual classrooms remaining
open for in-person learning during the 2020-2021 school year.
