Human Growth and Development

Human Growth and Development (HG&D) was taught in grades K to 12 as per Florida Statute 1003.42(2)(n),
1003.46, and the District’s Wellness Promotion Policy (2.035). Human Growth and Development is the final
unit of all Science Courses in grades K to 12 . In FY21, the District taught over 100,000 students in the Human

Growth and Development unit.

In addition, 19 teachers received synchronous Professional Development and another 90 took asynchronous
online Professional Development, and another 275 teachers received Professional Development at their
school in FY21.
