Personnel
A 30-point Tobacco Prevention Course for Educators
A 60-point Comprehensive Tobacco Prevention Course for Educators

Student Courses for Students with Tobacco or Nicotine Infractions
Courses for adults focus on equipping course participants with the knowledge that they need to provide
tobacco and nicotine prevention lessons to youth.
Implementation requirements for the adult courses:
• 30-and-60 point courses require four (4) tobacco prevention lessons.
• The 10-point ENDS course requires one (1) prevention lesson for instructional personnel or share
session for non-instructional personnel.
• There are currently no implementation requirements for the nurse’s course; however, they will receive
the latest information on all aspects of tobacco prevention, including ENDS by successfully completing
the course.
Courses for students focus on providing information about the health effects of tobacco and nicotine products
including vaping. Each course is approximately 3.5 hours long and is offered statewide for districts to use to
hold suspension days in abeyance.
Impact of the Tobacco Prevention Program in FY21:
• 17,602 students in 36 counties received prevention lessons from a teacher.
• 3,401 students registered for a student course.
• 2,478 students in 36 counties completed the student course.
• 57 counties participated in one of the programs.
• 21,003 total students were impacted by the program.
The 10-point ENDS course is offered statewide through a grant from the Florida Department of Education.
The 30-point, 60-point, 20 CEU, and student courses are made possible through a grant from the Florida
Department of Health.
