 Allows for a variety of learning styles.
                  Utilizes hands-on approaches.
 Empowers student ownership of learning within the curriculum.
                  Is “Real” world oriented.
 Provides for in-depth processing and understanding.
 Promotes the learning process while creating a final product/project.
 Is cross-curricular and multidisciplinary in nature.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) program provided many
benefits for the students, staff and families. The program pivoted from the traditional brick and mortar setting
and began operating virtually. We provided:

 Virtual and hybrid program option for all program sites.
                  Virtual family engagement events.
 Virtual professional development and program monitoring.
 Varied resources to enhance student learning and promote engagement/autonomy (i.e., digital
applications that included virtual field trips, interactive science experiments, and expanded learning
                 opportunities).
 Individual student kits/materials for home use.
                  Virtual Wellness checks.
