Healthy School Teams (HST)

         Healthy School Teams

In an effort to simplify and streamline the Healthy School Team (HST) requirements on school campuses, last
school year we changes the team structure to leverage all the talent on each campus and introduced a “Set
        the Stage for Wellness” theme.

To launch the new platform, a virtual training was held on September 21, 2021. Administrators, faculty and
all interested parties from each school site were invited to attend because each of them brought specific
knowledge and expertise which are necessary and important in strengthening the team and creating a
wellness culture on the school campus.

As we “Set the Stage for Wellness” the intention was to:
               ● Re-introduce Healthy School Teams, the responsibilities, and the new structure.
               ● Discuss how to simplify and streamline wellness practices and programs on each school site by
               working together cross-functionally, and
               ● Share resources to support wellness goals on each campus
               ● Promote the use of cross-functional teams to achieve common goals

The HST Hubpage (which is accessible in the District Portal) was reconfigured to serve as the “Gateway to
Wellness” with the intention of simplifying access to HST resources. Since wellness initiatives are interspersed
throughout our large District this resource simplified the ability to identify the appropriate people and
resources when questions arose. To bring this to fruition, the better part of FY22 was spent collaborating
with members from various District departments contributing to Wellness to align our efforts to better serve
and support our students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Healthy, happy students and staff perform better
        which contributes to:

            ¾ Increased attendance
¾ Increased student and faculty engagement/participation
            ¾ Decreased referrals
            ¾ Decreased suspensions
