Superintendent, Michael J. Burke is the leader of the largest workforce in Palm Beach County, a staff of more
than 22,800 employees strong. Mr. Burke is prioritizing efforts to better understand the daily responsibilities
and critical contributions of staff members. A new video series called “Burke at Work” is one of many ways
Mr. Burke is accomplishing this push toward increased familiarity with members of Team Palm Beach.

Work,” the Superintendent had the opportunity to shadow staff members in various positions in the
cafeteria to get a feel for what they do and the important role they play in the success of the District.

             Burke at Work: PE Teacher
Š In a recent Strategic Plan survey, parents overwhelmingly supported adding more outdoor activities,
so in this episode of “Burke at Work,” Superintendent Burke spent time co-teaching with Ms. Jennifer
Johnson, a Physical Education teacher at Lake Park Elementary.

             Burke at Work: HVAC Technician
Š The District celebrated Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day and as an extension of that appreciation,
Superintendent Mike Burke went to great heights to better understand the important work of Maintenance
and Plant Operations staff. In this episode of “Burke at Work,” Mr. Burke spent time working alongside Mr.
