128 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuBlood Drives in the DistrictIn the third year of a five-year collaboration with OneBlood, Inc., the District continued to inspire students and staff to make life-saving blood donations. In FY25, 80 blood drives were successfully organized across 24 high school campuses, along with 7 blood drives at three District department and facility sites, resulting in 3,691units of blood donated by students and staff. This collective effort has benefited 11,073 patients, as each donation has the potential to save up to three lives.The partnership with OneBlood, Inc. extends beyond blood donations, fostering a culture of community responsibility and life-saving awareness among students. Through OneBlood%u2019s Educational Assistance and Scholarship Program, many students receive support to pursue higher education. Additionally, OneBlood contributes funds to the Department of Risk and Benefits Management, enhancing employee wellness initiatives. Students enrolled in the District%u2019s medical academies also benefit from career exploration and job shadowing opportunities, as well as clinical and/or other placements for medical academy students to the Medical Sciences Academies, Choice and Career Options Department, and the Adult and Community Education Department, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world medical professions.The District remains committed to this invaluable partnership, recognizing its lasting impact on our community and the lives saved through our collaborative efforts.Community InvolvementFY25 Blood Donation Contributions: SchoolsAlexander W.
