124 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuCommunity InvolvementHunger Relief ProgramsFor the 9th consecutive school year, the District%u2019s Hunger Relief Collaboration Team (HRCT) has worked to address food insecurity in our community. In FY25, the School Food Service (SFS) Department continued partnerships with the United Way of Palm Beach County%u2019s Hunger Relief Advisory Council and other hunger relief community agencies, contributing to the ongoing success of backpack and food pantry programs that help reduce food insecurity across the District. Through the efforts of the HRCT, thousands of students benefited from weekend meal programs and other essential resources, positively impacting the well-being of both students and their families.The following nonprofit organizations provided food support to more than 7,500 students across Palm Beach County through backpack programs, while also providing over 185,000 pounds of food through pantry distributions: %u008a Palm Beach County Food Bank served 4,080 students across 35 schools through its Weekend Meal Program. Additionally, they established four (4) school pantries that distributed over 25,000 pounds of food to students and their families. The Weekend Meal Program continued throughout the summer, reaching 366 students at five (5) schools.%u008a Boca Helping Hands operated the Backpack in a Box Program at 14 schools, providing 1,340 students with nutritious weekend meals.%u008a Feeding Dreams supported ten (10) schools through the Family Weekend Backpack Program, serving 1,093 students. In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, they also provided food backpacks at nine (9) schools, reaching a total of 336 students through the District service agreements.%u008a Continuing its dedication to local families, First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta supported 277 students at three (3) Jupiter-area elementary schools through its Weekend Food Bag Program.%u008a Blessings in a Backpack supported one school by supplying 35 students with weekend meal bags to support their nutrition and well-being outside of school hours.%u008a Feeding South Florida served families at four (4) school sites and the District%u2019s Welcome Center through food pantry distributions, providing a combined total of approximately 160,000 pounds of food during the 2024-2025 school year.
