                                     123Community InvolvementLet%u2019s Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity ChallengeIn March 2025, the District continued its participation in the Let%u2019s Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge, an annual countywide movement initiative encouraging students, families, and staff to log daily minutes of physical activity throughout the month of March. Through weekly messaging in the Superintendent%u2019s Weekly Update, principals and departments received instructions to register their teams, track minutes, and promote schoolwide participation.Schools integrated the challenge into existing activities such as PE, recess, campus walking loops, classroom brain breaks, gardening, dance clubs, and after-school athletics. Staff also created movement opportunities throughout the month%u2014including wellness walks, stretch breaks, and campus movement challenges to promote whole-school engagement.FY25 Results The District recorded an outstanding 15,334,897 minutes of physical activity during the month of March 2025. This represents thousands of students and staff choosing movement every day, all month long.9 Sunrise Park Elementary achieved 1st Place among all schools in the newly created schools-only category for logging the most minutes. By connecting schools with free, accessible movement opportunities through LetsMovePBC.org and reinforcing wellness as a shared responsibility among schools, families, and community partners, the initiative strengthened the Community Involvement component of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) culture. Movement became a unifying experience for classrooms, school communities, and staff teams across the District.
