Welcome to the Fall 2017 edition of
Technology in Motion
for Education.
IT was able to hire 21 summer interns mostly from our school system,
and used them to do projector maintenance, computer setups, and assist
Purchasing in the new Sharp copiers roll-out at all our schools and
District departments.
Some of IT’s key upcoming initiatives are:
• Collaborate with Educational Technology on the District’s FY17 Digital
Learning Plan to expend remaining categorical dollars.
• Oversee and support implementation of the new Student Information
System (SIS).
• Prepare to implement major IT infrastructure projects under tax
referendum and E-rate revenue.
• Work closely with Educational Technology to implement classroom
technology projects under tax referendum.
• Work closely with the Communication Division on implementation of a new
District mobile app and website.
Additionally, this summer we implemented business and instructional
applications, upgraded classrooms and labs, installed necessary hardware
and equipment, and conducted training. All of the ongoing projects and new
initiatives required a high-level of collaboration and communication.
Our dedicated Information Technology staff members are committed to
providing the highest level of customer service and satisfaction to our schools
to meet our primary goal of student achievement. I look forward to working
with each of you for another successful and satisfying school year.
Best Regards,
