District-Certified Small Business Enterprise Participation in

        Construction

In FY24, the District embarked on a series of initiatives to bolster the participation of District-certified Small Business
Enterprises (SBE) in construction projects. These initiatives align with our steadfast dedication to fostering efficiency,
integrity, and diversity in procurement endeavors.

        Enhancing Efficiency and Integrity:

          • Comprehensive training sessions, including the Construction Summit, Architecture & Engineering (A&E) Summit,
and Small Business University (SBU), were well organized and focused on procurement processes and procedural
clarifications. Notably, the Office of Diversity in Business Practices (ODBP) and Facilities Management spearheaded the
enhanced Business 2 Government Now (B2G) system training, particularly on payment processes, ensuring a thorough
understanding among Prime Contractors and subcontractors.

          • To cultivate future industry leaders and foster community engagement, SBE specialists actively engaged students in
significant events, nurturing a talent pipeline for the construction sector.
