• The commitment to transparency is evident through initiatives like creating the SBE
brochure, serving as a valuable resource for small businesses navigating procurement
processes. Moreover, the ODBP revised SBE Certification processes and developed
construction navigation guides to streamline procedures.
Promoting Diversity
Ongoing outreach events were conducted to encourage subcontractors’ increased
participation in District construction projects and promoted diversity and inclusivity within
our procurement practices. As a result, 61.4% (175 of the 285) of certified subcontractors
received work on District projects.
These initiatives have yielded tangible outcomes, as evidenced by the total value of contract
awards and value of contract awards for diverse business owners for FY24, as depicted in
Figure 10. By nurturing efficiency, integrity, and diversity within our procurement processes, Empowering entrepreneurs with the
first-ever SBE navigation brochure
the District not only upholds our commitment to excellence but also contributes significantly
to the growth and sustainability of our community.
