Middle School BOOST Re-Engagement Program
FY24 marked the second year of the District’s partnership with EdisonLearning. Offered as an acceleration program at
Riviera Beach Preparatory Academy and Intensive Transition South, EdisonLearning Middle School BOOST works with
students who are behind in both skills and grade levels. Students work with an online subject matter expert and an onsite
instructor to accelerate learning. Each student is expected to complete ten lessons per day and participate in a small-group
meeting with one of the online subject matter experts. The goal is to join students with their age-appropriate cohort and
boost their skills.
The ideal student for the Middle School BOOST program is a student who has fallen behind their cohort in skill attainment
in any core subject, requires additional support to improve engagement, or needs extra support and resources to achieve
success in high school.
In FY24, the Department of Support Services, in conjunction with the Department of Safe Schools, identified and enrolled 40
students in the Middle School BOOST program. Students at Riviera Beach Preparatory Academy and Intensive Transition
South experienced success in recovering course credits and grade-level promotions. As of April 2024, 77% of participating
students accelerated at least one grade level in less than a year in the BOOST program.
