Kumar Surendran
Enterprise Applications - ERP
Kumar Surendran was hired in November as an IT Solutions Specialist
(i.e., Software Developer) on the ERP Technical team in the IT Enterprise
Applications Department. Prior to joining the District, Kumar worked first
as an employee and later as a consultant, for Ernst & Young. Kumar has
over 20 years of experience and has gone through several PeopleSoft
implementations, as well as upgrades. Kumar’s skills include development
of several PeopleSoft Global projects using PeopleSoft Tools and Oracle
databases. When he isn’t working, Kumar enjoys playing tennis, traveling
and spending time with his family. We are very fortunate to have Kumar on
our ERP Team.

Karine Thibodeau
Enterprise Applications - Records Management
Karine Thibodeau works in the Records Management Office as a Technical
Analyst. Prior to her move to the IT Division, Karine worked at Forest Hill High
School for 3 ½ years as their School Records Coordinator. When she isn’t
working, Karine enjoys traveling and the beach. Karine has been such a
wonderful addition to the Records Management group!

Thuy Troung
Infrastructure/Systems Support
Thuy Troung is an IT Solutions Specialist in the Infrastructure/Systems
Support Department. She was born in Vietnam and came to the U.S. at a
young age. She has lived in Palm Beach County for 12 years. Prior to joining
the District in October, she was a Systems Engineer at Bethesda Hospital in
Boynton Beach. Thuy, her husband, and 8-year old son enjoy cruising and
hope to cruise again when travel is safer. They have a Javanese dog named
Toby who brings much joy to the family.

Lucia Ungaro
Enterprise Applications - Records Management
Lucia (Lucy) Ungaro was hired in early November as the Records
Management Supervisor in IT Enterprise Applications. Lucy is a Florida
Certified Records Manager (FCRM) and comes to us with many years of
Records Management experience, including 24 years working for Broward
County Public Schools. Lucy supervises the Records Management Office,
which includes student records, student records subpoenas, transcript
requests, records retention, records disposal, and inactive records storage.
When she isn’t working, Lucy enjoys volunteering with several animal rescue
organizations. We are very fortunate to have Lucy in her new role!

Jelani Young
Technical Operations - Data Center
Jelani is a proud alumni of Palm Beach County schools, has lived in Palm
Beach County all his life, and enjoys living here. He was previously a
technician for Palm Beach State College then he was a member of the
IT Field Tech team. Currently, he is working in the Data Center. When not
working, he is either playing video or board games. He enjoys reading books
that are either informative or entertaining comics. He trains in martial arts,
started with Judo, and is now branching out to Kickboxing and Muay Thai.
