EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS FORMED

In August 2021, the Palm Beach County School District began a pilot program for Employee
Resource Groups (ERGs). Currently, there are six ERGs, each with a different focus.

The groups are:

• Black Excellence, for Black African Americans
• Empower Her, for womxn (the x means all gender inclusive)
• Great Beginnings, for new employees
• Pride in SDPBC, for LGBTQ+
• 1 Unnamed ERG, for Haitian Creole
• 1 Unnamed ERG, for Hispanic Latinx

Each group is in the process of electing leadership positions and constructing goals and objectives
related to their specific purpose.

Ann Haddad, an IT Solutions Specialist II working in IT Enterprise Applications, was recently elected
President of the Pride in SDPBC ERG. These groups exist to provide resources, support, and a sense
of community created and provided by District employees, for all District employees. Ann would like to
extend an invitation to learn more about each group and take the opportunity to collaborate with fellow
employees by joining one or more ERG. Each group meets separately for one hour each month.
