OF TECHNOLOGY IN MOTION
5. Storage Area Network (SAN) Replacement: Infrastructure, IT Operations
& Project Management teams worked together to successfully replace
our 12+ year-old SAN with a modern NetApp SAN at all three district
sites (FHESC, SITV & NWRDC) providing high availability to our
mission-critical and key applications. Additionally, this will help elevate
our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities.
6. District Bandwidth Upgrade: As our overall District need for increased
bandwidth continues to grow, in order to better serve our students and
schools, we have upgraded our District bandwidth by 50% from 16GB to
24GB.
7. Server Upgrades: All elementary school servers have been upgraded.

8. Wireless Access Points (WAP) Upgrade: We continue to upgrade our
school Wireless Access Points (WAP) to ensure optimal wireless access Service Desk

9. Interactive Smart Boards: Worked with the Ed Tech team to rollout
Interactive Smart Boards and associated technology in the classrooms. Frequently Needed Forms
We have many priorities in the upcoming year and FY20, such as preparing District Cellular Device:
for the Windows 7 end of life, SIS Adult and After School Care module PBSD 2317
implementation, upgrading the District portal, a District-wide phone system
upgrade, additional wireless access point upgrades and cabling at our Software/Hardware Technology
schools – and last but certainly not least, to continue to provide IT Project Request (for TCC):
Management services to all our District key projects and strategic initiatives. PBSD 2199

In the July 2018 release of our District’s FY18 Department Quality Services District Network Access Request:
Survey (DQS), the IT Division was named the top Division based on the input PBSD 2413
from our schools for overall satisfaction with the quality of services provided
across the District in FY18. This is no easy feat and I personally thank each eSupport
and every employee for their continuous drive in achieving that appreciation Mainframe Access
from our schools for their outstanding services this year, as well as in the (formerly PBSD 1362)
years to come. The DQS supports the strategic plan objectives to ensure
continuous improvement and improve customer service throughout District PeopleSoft Access
operations. (formerly PBSD 2308)
Request for Services
Additionally, on December 10, 2018, the IT Division was named as one the (formerly PBSD 0117)
finalists for a prestigious and lucrative award—the Hamdan Bin Mohammed
Awards for Innovation in Project Management. This award, sponsored by the
Crown Prince of Dubai, is a worldwide recognition of excellence. We were
awarded for our management of our 2017 IT Internship Program. Please see
George Solli’s excellent article in this issue of TIME for additional details.
We wish our students success on their upcoming EOC exams, assessments
