MEAL BARCODE
CUSTOM APPLICATION
ASSISTS PARENTS
In collaboration with the School Food Service Department, the IT Enterprise
Applications Design & Development Team built custom software to allow
students and parents to use a digital barcode to pick up Grab-and-Go meals
at schools. It also allows students and parents to print a letter to present for
the meals. The application automated and streamlined an important process
for an extremely busy School Food Service Department forced to reinvent
their services due to the pandemic.
ELEMENTARY REPORT CARDS
DISTRIBUTED ELECTRONICALLY
In March 2020, when all schools moved to distance learning, IT and the FTE
& Student Reporting Department were forced to very quickly build a new
way for parents of elementary students to obtain their child’s Elementary
Report Card. In the past, report cards simply went home in each student’s
backpack. Instead, the May 2020 Elementary Report Card was provided to
parents online either via a link in an email or via a portal tile in the Student
Portal. These two delivery methods will continue for all three 2020/2021
Trimesters.
