LOTTERY RESULTS

        Lottery Results and Next Steps
The results of the Choice Lottery for the 2026–2027 school year will be released on Thursday, April 2, 2026.* You can view your results
by logging into your Family Dashboard. An email notification will also be sent to the address on your application. Please note that results
will not be given over the phone.
*The scheduled release date for lottery results may change due to unforeseen events like school closures or district operational delays.
We will publish any necessary updates to the release date.

Understanding Your Results & Making a Decision
After the lottery results are posted, your application will show one of the three possible outcomes listed below:
           1. If Your Child Is Assigned to Their FIRST Choice
If your child is assigned a seat, you must accept or decline the offer by the deadline. If you do not respond, the seat will be
automatically declined and offered to another student. This decision is final and cannot be reversed. If you decline the assignment,
your child will attend their zoned school. You cannot decline a first-choice assignment to remain in the waitpool for your second
           choice.
           2. If Your Child Is Assigned to Their SECOND Choice
If your child is assigned to their second-choice program, you have two options. You can accept the assignment, which will secure that
seat but will also remove your child from the waitpool for their first choice. Alternatively, you can decline the assignment to remain
in the waitpool for your first choice, though a future assignment to that program is not guaranteed. The decline cannot be reversed
           at a later time.
           3. If Your Child Is Placed in a Waitpool
This status means your child's application was successfully included in the lottery, but they were not selected for an assignment
because there were more eligible applicants than available seats. Your child has now been placed in the waitpool for their eligible
program(s). You will be notified if a seat becomes available at a later date. The department does not provide updates on a student's
position in the waitpool. A student's waitpool status is only for the current application cycle. If your child is not assigned a seat before
the 2026–2027 school year begins, you must submit a new application for the 2027–2028 school year.
        Ineligible Applications
When an applicant fails to meet the specified program eligibility requirements for any reason, that choice is excluded from the lottery
selection process. Second choice selections will not replace an ineligible first choice selection.
        Finalizing Your Enrollment
After you have accepted a seat assignment, wait for communication from the school's Choice Coordinator, who will contact you with
next steps and provide all necessary paperwork. This will include program-specific documents including the Choice Program Contract,
which confirms your agreement to meet the program's academic, attendance, and behavioral expectations. An acceptance of a seat
assignment is an acknowledgement of this agreement. It is crucial that you complete, sign, and return all required documents directly to
the school by the deadline they provide to finalize your child's enrollment and secure their spot.
        Post-Lottery Assignments from Waitpool
If a student who was assigned a seat declines their spot for any reason, the opening will then be filled by an applicant from the program's
waitpool. Assignments from the waitpool can occur at any time before the start of the 2026-2027 school year, at the discretion of the
Department of Choice and Career Options.

Important: You will only be notified if your child is selected for an assignment from the waitpool. Any assignment will also be reflected
on the Family Dashboard and an email notification will be sent. The department does not provide updates on a student's position in
        the waitpool.
