On August 7, 2021, Superintendent Michael J. Burke exercised his authority to
amend COVID-19 policies. As a result of such action, facial coverings are
required for all District staff and visitors inside schools and on District
transportation. Visitors and staff cannot opt-out of this requirement.
2021-2022 While social distancing will be encouraged, there will be no required
OPENING OF expectation of social distancing due to school crowding.
The information contained in this Guiding Document is for informational and
educational purposes as the School District of Palm Beach County begins the
SCHOOLS 2021-2022 academic year emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please be advised, as health conditions are continually evolving, there will be
changes based on government guidelines or recommendations and other
internal and external factors. The District's goals are to ensure the health and
