Effective August 7, facial coverings are required for all staff and visitors. On
August 18, 2021, the School Board approved a policy making facial
coverings mandatory for students in District-operated schools. This measure
took effect on Monday, August 23, 2021. Opt-out letters previously
HEALTH submitted will no longer be honored.
SERVICES The only exception to this facial covering requirement is for students with
ADA or 504 Plan accommodations. If your child requires an exemption from
the mask requirement due to a documented disability, parents can submit a
PROTOCOLS request for an accommodation along with a note from a licensed medical
physician documenting the need for the requested accommodation to the
school’s 504 coordinator.
The current policy, as approved on August 18, will remain in place for up to
90 days. However, the Board will periodically reassess the policy. In addition
RAPID TESTING to notifying students who may have been exposed to a person with a positive
case, each principal also issues a schoo-lwide notification when there is a
positive case on campus.
RAPID TESTING PARENT Facial coverings are not required while outside.
CONSENT FORM If students choose to not comply, the school will follow guidelines defined in
the Student Code of Conduct: Policy 5.1812 (K-5) and Policy 5.1813 (6-12).
Social Distancing will be encouraged to the extent possible.
COVID-19 DASHBOARD
Contact Tracing is conducted by the Florida Department of Health and Health
Care District in collaboration with School District staff.
COVID-19 RESOURCES School Nurses will continue to conduct rapid testing for COVID-19 of
symptomatic students with parent permission, as availability allows.
