The science and social studies assessments are not included in the progress monitoring system. These assessments continue
to assess standards from prior years. The Biology, Civics, and US History End of Course Exams revealed nearly two-thirds
of students scored level 3 or higher.

Objective 2: Accelerate student learning approaches using innovative and
        differentiated approaches.

        Building Teacher Technology Leaders

The District has a strong history of supporting teachers as they integrate educational
technology to increase student engagement and efficacy. The Educational Technology
Department, in partnership with the Departments of Elementary and Secondary
Education, first developed the Teaching with Technology Trailblazer program where
teachers were provided with technology tools and professional development that
aligned technology with a standards-based curriculum. Trailblazers led the way in
the number of District Google Certifications and serve as exemplars for integrating
digitally-rich interactive classroom technology such as student Chromebooks,
SMART Interactive Flat Panels, document cameras, Audio Enhancement systems, and
        projectors.

The next step is to build agency on school campuses by developing a cadre of teacher leaders
through a Federal Title IV Train the Trainer grant. Participants level up technology integration skills in alignment with
the District’s mission to educate, affirm, and inspire each student in an equity-embedded school system. The Educational
Technology Department is in its third successful year of the Title IV grant and is strengthening teacher leaders’ capacity
to train other teachers to use technology with fidelity. The Title IV trainers, representing a mix of content areas and grade
levels, were nominated by their principals because they exhibit strong leadership skills, embrace change, learn from failure,
and develop strong relationships with their students. They receive specialized paid training in adult learning principles,
student engagement strategies, and effective use of educational technology to impact student growth across the District. To
date, 3,597 educators who directly impact approximately 96,000 students have been trained.
