EDUCATE | AFFIRM | INSPIRE 352ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND GROWTHObjective 2: Accelerate student learning using innovative and differentiated approachesARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR STUDENTSThe District is committed to the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), providing students with tools that enhance learning and inspire innovation. Prioritizing data privacy and ethical use ensures students have a safe environment in which to develop technology fluency for career and college readiness.Adopting Board Policy 2.505 during FY26 established official guidelines for the responsible and ethical use of AI by students and staff. Directives from this policy support District Strategic Initiative D.1c, empowering individuals to integrate technology tools for learning. Such guidance ensures that use remains focused on education while upholding strict standards for safety and academic integrity.Continuing the implementation of Khanmigo was a primary focus for all secondary students. Led by the Department of Educational Technology, 3,821 educators were trained to integrate this AI tool into classrooms. The FY26 Khanmigo Ambassador Program includes 110 teachers across 56 secondary schools and supports implementation while championing innovative AI teaching. Participating teachers received compensation through a Title IV grant to support implementation by sharing knowledge with colleagues and advancing modern teaching methods. Consequently, more than 90% of District secondary students used Khan Academy in FY26.Providing students with secure technology tools featuring appropriate content guardrails is a District priority. Instruction addressing the safe and responsible use of AI for students in grades 3 through 12 is embedded in the Resiliency Education Program. Approved AI applications include the following options:%u2022 Khanmigo is available to students in grades 6 through 12.%u2022 Adobe Express is accessible to all students.%u2022 Canva supports learners in grades 6 through 12.
