VIRTUAL AND HOME EDUCATIONAL SERVICESThe Department of Virtual & Home Educational Services promotes academic excellence and growth by implementing differentiated learning approaches beyond the traditional brick-and-mortar environment. More than 11,000 students participated in flexible programs, including virtual education, hospital homebound services, and home education. Participation across the department%u2019s offerings included the following pathways:%u2022 Palm Beach Virtual School (PBVS) served kindergarten through grade 12, offering full-time enrollment to 161 learners and part-time access to 2,955 students. Enrollees followed an individualized schedule, allowing them to access materials and complete assignments at their own pace.%u2022 Hospital Homebound served as a temporary intervention for 293 students. Minimizing instructional gaps was the primary goal, with curriculum access provided while a student was medically confined, ultimately facilitating a return to a traditional classroom setting.%u2022 Home Education served as a parent-directed option for 7,896 students. Parents or guardians determined the academic plans to achieve specific goals, giving children opportunities to explore subjects independently.
