                                    EDUCATE | AFFIRM | INSPIRE 47MULTICULTURAL EDUCATIONThe Department of Multicultural Education manages several essential initiatives such as:%u2022 English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program%u2022 Dual-Language programs%u2022 Welcome Center%u2022 Migrant Education Program%u2022 District-wide instruction in World LanguagesThrough the ESOL program, the District facilitates the development of English language proficiency for more than 48,000 non-native English speakers while promoting academic progress. Beyond direct language acquisition, the department provides comprehensive support to families by offering access to community resources, curriculum materials, and professional learning opportunities for educators and parents. The department also maintains impactful family engagement and outreach to ensure meaningful connections.The department provides guidelines for after-school and summer learning programs. Options include ESOL and Dual-Language tracks to strengthen language skills year-round. These structured efforts support continued academic growth and build students%u2019 confidence. Staff monitors graduation requirements for grade 12 students enrolled in the ESOL program. Historical data shows the positive impact of this ongoing support, with the graduation rate for English Language Learners (ELL) increasing by 18.5% between FY22 and FY25.ESOL teachers attend the FY26 back-to-school training at Park Vista Community HS.
