Through the Pre-Service Program and the Summer Student Internship Program, the District built a comprehensive ecosystem that supports talent at every stage, from high school students exploring early career paths to university graduates preparing to enter the workforce. Together, these initiatives ensure the District remains a hub for mentorship and long-term career growth.The Pre-Service ProgramThe District%u2019s Pre-Service Program is the cornerstone for developing the next generation of teachers. By expanding partnerships with 22 colleges and universities, the District coordinated placements for 940 aspiring educators. These placements range from initial observations to immersive, full-semester teaching roles, allowing students to align university theories with the practical realities of a modern classroom. Beyond skillbuilding, the program also serves as a vital recruitment engine. The District transitioned 74 former interns into full-time teaching roles and hired 64 as substitute teachers, demonstrating that the best way to find great teachers is to train them within District schools.The Summer Student InternshipDesigned for secondary students and recent alumni, the Summer Student Internship Program offers a six-week, high-impact immersion into the professional world of public education. By placing 83 participants across 24 campuses and 21 central departments, the initiative allows emerging talent to engage with the District beyond traditional instructional spaces.
