54 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTCOMMUNITY EXPERIENCESThe Community Experiences initiative expanded the District%u2019s commitment to immersive learning. By partnering with local organizations, students were connected to the cultural, historical, and natural resources of Palm Beach County, providing a real-world context for academic studies. FY26 Community Experiences by grade level:%u2022 Kindergarten: Students visited local public library branches to support early literacy and become familiar with essential community resources.%u2022 Grade 3: Attendees explored a 20-acre tropical oasis at Mounts Botanical Garden through selfguided tours. Chaperones used colorful maps to lead groups through interactive activities.%u2022 Grade 5: Continuing the Curtain Up for 5th Grade! program, participants experienced the magic of live theater through performances in the grand A.W. Dreyfoos Hall at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.%u2022 Grade 6: Immersive artistic experiences were offered at venues including the Norton Museum of Art, Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, Boca Raton Museum of Art, and Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Galleries. Regional heritage was explored at locations such as the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum, Yesteryear Village, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum, and the Holocaust Learning Experience.%u2022 Grade 7: Participants focused on environmental stewardship and scientific inquiry. Hands-on exploration took place at the Solid Waste Authority and the FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute. Immersive encounters with local ecosystems occurred at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Lion Country Safari, Manatee Lagoon, and Green Cay Nature Center.%u2022 Grade 8: Students participated in a large-scale career fair hosted by Junior Achievement ( JA) of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast at CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches. Attendees connected with regional business leaders and representatives from choice programs at District high schools. South region schools chose between the CACTI experience and JA of South Florida%u2019s Finance Park at the JA World Huizenga Center. School staff, community partners, and students praised the Community Experience initiative for offering interactive learning opportunities that strengthen the educational foundation. Through these partnerships, the District remains committed to its mission to educate, affirm, and inspire every student by connecting them with the local community.
