CELLULAR
BACKUP INSTALLED
OVER THE SUMMER
As part of our ongoing effort to continuously improve safety and security
for our students and staff, enhanced capabilities to the Centegix CrisisAlert
equipment was installed over the summer. The new hardware will
automatically connect via a multi-carrier cellular device in the event of a
network Internet outage, ensuring that 911 centers will still receive alerts if a
CrisisAlert emergency is initiated.
The IT Infrastructure Team; Randy DeMello, Diana Cordero, Derek Johnson,
and Moises Portell was led by Jordano Reyes and Jorge Burgos. Assisting
the team were our interns Miles Moller and Ryan Eng. This team quickly and
effectively installed and configured the equipment at all 190 locations in June
and July so all sites would be ready for the start of school. Great work!
