PROJECTS UPDATE
                       INFRASTRUCTURE

School Openings: The School District opened two new schools for the
2023/24 school year. Dr. Joaquin Garcia High and West Boynton Middle
were ready for their grand openings with all new infrastructure equipment.
The Infrastructure teams equipped both sites with servers, high performance
                                            switching, and a Wi-Fi 6 wireless network.
School and District Office Internet Bandwidth Upgrade: IT Infrastructure
started a major project with AT&T to upgrade all schools and district sites from
1G to 10G internet circuits. Internet traffic will be balanced across the two
circuits to help mitigate potential outages. In addition, all MDF cores are being
upgraded to new redundant high-performance core switching.

Lithium-Ion UPS: A major project in progress will replace all UPS
(Uninterrupted Power Supply) units with new five year, Lithium-Ion batteries.
This new UPS infrastructure will keep the main network room running during
short term power outages and power fluctuations.
Centigix Backup Network: The Infrastructure teams installed a cellular
Crisis Alert backup system over the summer. The cellular backup device
enables the Centigex system to stay online in the event of a network outage.
Every school has a backup cellular router installed in the main network room
and schools with poor indoor cellular reception also had an exterior cellular
antenna added to support this system.

School Server Upgrades: Over the summer, the Infrastructure team
migrated FSxxxx and RCxxxx servers to Windows Server 2022. This project
was completed to ensure all servers meet the cybersecurity requirements
for vulnerabilities and patching. This will help mitigate risks associated with
                                            ransomware and malware.

NextGen Backup: Infrastructure is currently engaged in implementing a new
enterprise backup solution to replace the existing solution, which faces an end
of life. The new solution will be next generation and mitigate cybersecurity
risks and help with data protection requirements. The project is scheduled to
be completed by the end of this fiscal year.

Dell OME: Dell OME is a new proactive monitoring solution for real time
insight into Dell server hardware. It allows the Server Team to proactively
respond and resolve hardware issues before they impact students and/or
                                            employees.
