SIS MIGRATED TO

THE CLOUD

IT Enterprise Applications and the FTE & Student Reporting Departments,
with help from the SIS vendor, migrated the Student Information System (SIS)
to the cloud in April 2023. The migration was completed in three months with
no user downtime. This was an exciting move for several reasons. It makes
the SIS vendor directly responsible for the performance and maintenance of
the system, as well as providing 24/7 availability. The following are the new
cloud-related responsibilities assigned to the vendor:

• SIS Performance Analysis
• SIS Disaster Recovery

• SIS Troubleshooting / Problem Determination

• FTE Survey Sites
• SIS Database Backups

• SIS Operating System Upgrades

NEW SCHOOL WEBSITES

AND UPDATED HUB

LAUNCHED

After launching the new Blackboard District website at www.
palmbeachschools.org in December 2022, all school websites were
migrated to the Blackboard platform in March 2023. Then, in June 2023, the
District Hub was also migrated to Blackboard. That marked the end of the
complete migration to Blackboard websites.
As part of the migration project, school and department webmasters
were offered Blackboard training. Moving forward, the Web Team in the
Communications Department remains committed to assisting webmasters
to update and maintain their sites and remain in compliance with ADA public
website requirements.

Overall, the updated website platform brings a fresh look with a consistent
design and enables the end user to find information, regardless of whether on
a public, school, or intranet site.
