Comprehensive School Health Services
Comprehensive School Health Services, provided by special state funding, allowed the Florida Health Palm
Beach County to broaden the scope of the services available to meet the needs of the local community for
low-income, high-risk students.
The Comprehensive Schools were:
o Atlantic Community High
o Glades Central Community High
o Carver Community Middle
The goals of the program were to reduce risk taking behaviors that lead to teenage pregnancy and sexually
transmitted diseases, to prevent abuse of substances such as alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and to promote
access to counseling and health services. During FY22, there were 154 health education classes taught in
classrooms to more than 4,000 students.
