All of the projects that the Planning and Real Estate Services department is involved in assist students, families and visitors. The department also looks at ways to provide improved safety, health, and wellness to staff members. The Tool Talks sent out and reviewed on a regular basis educate staff on health and safety issues that could be applied at work and at home. These educational exercises include “The Distracted Driver,” “Back Safety,” “Drowning Prevention,” “Ladder Safety,” and “Texting and Driving,” to name a few. In addition, the department will start a competitive walking exercise program with set goals to assist staff in improving wellbeing. On a daily basis, staff assists each other through encouragement on eating healthy and leaving their desks to walk at least 15 minutes per day.
