Growing Strong: Every Grade Grows Plants
School gardens support instructional efforts targeting some of
our most challenging science standards related to plant growth,
reproduction, and functions. School gardens also enhance the
learning environment by providing a real world experience, which
allows for the meaningful application of student knowledge and
understanding of various standards across subject areas.

The Elementary Science Department has launched a K-5 initiative
that incorporates science standards related to plant growth,
reproduction, and functions to raise performance standards.
The goal of this initiative is to increase the proficiency of these
standards by 30% over the next three years.
