By promoting the ongoing observation of plant growth in every
grade and encouraging the use of school gardens throughout
the District, the science department hopes to foster the nature
of science and the student mastery of these essential standards
within the Elementary Science curriculum. For more information,

Some things to consider when developing your school garden
        initiative:
          • Will you use your garden as an outdoor learning space?
          • Which classes can be taught outside?
          • How often will you bring your class out to the garden?
          • Which lessons will be incorporated into the garden?
          • Which academic standards are you incorporating?
              • Visit the School Garden SharePoint Site for your school
(Curriculum Tab) to see a complete list of the academic
               science standards.
