Hudl Focus Athletic Cameras
In February 2023, the School Board approved the purchase of
Hudl Focus athletic cameras for all 25 District-operated high
school stadiums and gymnasiums. Following this approval,
the Department of Athletics worked with the Department
of Educational Technology to install 52 indoor and outdoor
cameras in District high school gyms and stadium press boxes
to capture student athlete game footage. This initiative marks
a significant step forward for the District's athletic programs,
beginning in FY25.
These automated, high-definition cameras will provide a valuable tool for student-athlete development. By automatically
capturing game footage, Hudl Focus cameras eliminate relying on volunteers or staff to film practices and competitions.
This ensures consistent, high-quality recordings from an optimal vantage point, allowing coaches at every school to conduct
in-depth analysis and provide targeted feedback to athletes.
The consistent recording of games also allows student-athletes to develop comprehensive game reels showcasing their
skills and athleticism. These reels can be invaluable tools when presented to colleges during recruitment.
The Focus Exchange Network service from Hudl enables the automatic upload of footage from away games played at
facilities equipped with Hudl Focus cameras. This ensures a complete record of a student athlete’s performance throughout
the season and opportunities for spectators to view shared live streams and recordings.
