Community Partnerships

Increasing family and community engagement is vital for students’ success and the District engages in multiple community
        partnerships to support this cause.

Our collaboration in the Community Partnership Schools model is a shining example of shared leadership. The District’s
partners in this project, including Children’s Home Services, the Healthcare District of Palm Beach County, and Florida
Atlantic University, are not just crucial to our shared goals, but they are the very heart of it. These goals, which include
improving literacy achievement, increasing adult healthcare access, increasing parent involvement, decreasing chronic
student absenteeism, and expanding college and career readiness opportunities, are a testament to our collective vision
        and commitment.

Our partnership with Boys Town to bring Project LIFT to West Gate ES has been a resounding success. In its second year, the
initiative focused on decreasing absenteeism and improving student behaviors. The professional learning series, grounded
in praise, fostered improved teacher and student relationships. Data collected by Boys Town staff showed a significant
improvement from FY23 to FY24. The number of students with five or more absences decreased by 6.6%. Participants have
noted, “LIFT Together is unique because it provides prevention services for the benefit of all students, parents, and teachers
while delivering services for students and families struggling the most.” This success is a testament to the power of our
partnerships and the potential for future initiatives.
