Back to School Risk Reduction Strategies
Modified Activities
Increased health & safety measures are underway on campuses. Where deemed appropriate certain student activities including, but not limited to,
transportation. extracurricular activities, after school activities, band and athletics may entail additional parental consents.
Food Service Teams Provide:
✓ Meals will be served in the cafeteria and consumed in the cafeteria, classroom or
alternative space, utilizing social distancing
✓ No touch student IDs for lunch transactions and facial coverings for staff
✓ Continuation of Grab and Go Food Service for distance learners and implementation
of Grab and Go breakfast and lunch items to reduce wait time in cafeteria lines
✓ Additional signage for social distancing both in the lunch line and in seating areas
✓ Daily enhanced cleaning
✓ Use of staggered release schedules and increased sessions in an effort to decrease
crowding
School Police
✓ School Police Officers are stationed at every District school
✓ Fast, effective, and coordinated response to emergency situations
✓ Threat assessment procedures and teams at every school
✓ Continuation of all safety initiatives and support of social distancing
✓ Continued coordination through the Tactical Operations Center
✓ Collaboration with ESE and Safe Schools on potential school safety issues
✓ Centralized Behavioral Services Team (police and mental health approach to
prevention, intervention, and diversion).
✓ State mandated emergency drills will continue with social distancing modifications.
