16 School Food Service 2023-2024 Annual ReportMainMENUHire and Retain Dedicatedand Effective EmployeesNew Staff Recognition Methods Last year, SFS implemented a Manager of the Year program to recognize our most exceptional Cafeteria Managers. The three-step nomination process narrowed down the many nominees to select a finalist as Manager of the Year.All finalists were awarded a certificate of recognition and a gift card. The Manager of the Year received a certificate of recognition, a gift card, an iPad, and an opportunity to attend the Florida School Nutrition Association Conference in Daytona Beach in the fall.We also presented Years of Service honors for employees celebrating an anniversary of 25 years or more of employment, or those retiring with more than 25 years of service. The SFS administrative team visited these employees at their schools and presented them with a certificate of achievement and a pin to commemorate their extraordinary milestone. We also celebrated employees at their 5, 10, 15, and 20 year anniversaries by acknowledging them in our Director%u2019s Weekly Welcome newsletter.
