Through this edition, I am proud to list the completion of key initiatives and projects in FY24, as a reflection of our
Division support for schools:
• Admin Refresh Project at Schools: Completed Admin Refresh Project to replace end-of-life computers for
all schools and ancillary sites
• Annual Refresh/Maintenance of Student Chromebooks: Completed 1:1 student Chromebook maintenance,
repairs, and refresh
• Electronic Student Cumulative Folder: Implemented for all elementary schools
• SIS and District Portal in the Cloud for High Availability: Migration of the SIS and District Enterprise Portal
to a vendor-hosted cloud solution
• E-Rate: E-Rate filings and E-Rate installations completed for WAN/LAN switches and wireless access points
for connectivity
• Next-Generation Data Backup: Implemented Commvault
• Microsoft Power BI to Support Strategic Initiatives: Increased use of business intelligence software
• Network Assessment and Audit: District-wide network assessment completed (by WWT) and network
penetration testing completed
• IT Security Operations Center (SOC) at FHESC: Security monitoring center for the District
COMPLETED KEY PROJECTS IN THE WORKS IN FY24 AND SLATED FOR FY25:
• Implement Multi-Factor Authentication for District Employees: Complete by end of FY24.
• Replace Current Paper-Based Student Registration Form for existing students with an online and mobile
accessible process for parents.
• Implement Electronic Student Cumulative Folder for all middle schools
• Implement New ITSM/ITAM Solution: IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM)
• Implement Cloud Unity Platform for Disaster Recovery
• Complete FHESC Boardroom Upgrade: In collaboration with TEN and the Operations Division.
In the accompanying article, “IT Division Year in Review - 2023”, I’m pleased to provide a reflection of the IT Division’s
work, challenges, and accomplishments throughout 2023. The Year in Review demonstrates the astounding success
the IT teams have accomplished on many key District initiatives to serve our schools and students. I hope you find this
retrospective of our work interesting and worth a read.
In closing, we wish our students well for the rest of this academic year. I sincerely hope you enjoy this edition of TIME
