District Leadership Academy

The District Leadership Academy (DLA) fosters talent growth and
professional development for District leaders. The Leaders of Vision
(LOV) who are director level and above provide the vision for the
District’s forward progress. Leaders of Mission (LOM) are specialists and
managers who drive the successful programs and processes that achieve
        the District’s vision.

During FY22, the DLA pivoted to “DLA Remote” with a virtual kickoff
event for 200 District administrators, which focused on work/life balance
featuring new Superintendent Mike Burke and other District leaders as
speakers. DLA also hosted Minute Mentor sessions where senior leaders
provide leadership advice for mentees. These sessions provide an environment for directors to share
and develop the next generation of leaders. A total of over 400 leaders participated in these and
other DLA events, which focused on District Essentials, and received feedback of a 95% satisfaction
        rating.

DLA launched the Talent Optimized Program, an innovative mentoring initiative. This year-long
program provided a competency rating assessment for employees from their peers and supervisors.
Employees were paired with District leaders in the second semester for one-on-one virtual or in-
person monthly coaching meetings focused on individual employee growth areas. In the FY22
pilot year, over 20 mentoring pairs participated in the program, which resulted in strengthening
relationships, increasing employee engagement, and increasing individual and organization
awareness of strengths in our talent pool.
