Talent Development
Objective 1: Promote a culture of learning and development for all employees
by providing opportunities and pathways for growth and advancement.
Administrative Assistants Academy
The District’s Administrative Assistants’ Academy (AAA) is designed to empower and increase
the knowledge of the Administrative Assistants throughout the District. The FY22 Administrative
Assistants’ Academy provided access to relevant content to foster professional growth at the school
and District levels.
The District’s differentiated approach of providing self-paced, online live, and face-to-face learning
opportunities ensured participants had choices in their classes. All classes supported Administrative
Assistants in learning something new, sharpening skills, and increasing their knowledge. The District
continues to expand course offerings yearly using data and Administrative Assistants’ feedback.
Participation Data
• 667 participants enrolled in our Administrative Assistants’ Academy
• 583 participants have completed all requirements
• 29 AAA classes offered (increase of 17 classes compared to FY21)
Aspiring Assistant Principals Program
The Aspiring Assistant Principals Program supports emerging leaders eager to serve in a leadership
capacity. It is based on the Florida Principal Leadership Standards and focuses on effective
instructional leadership for all student populations. Capitalizing on our Strategic Plan, this program
provides aspiring leaders with complex and relevant experiences to help prepare them to lead our
schools.
The program developed 27 aspiring leaders impacting 20 schools and four departments this year.
Twenty-six aspiring leaders entered the assistant principal pool. The department is expanding its
recruiting efforts to extend the impact on our schools and aspiring leaders.
